Upon completion of the course, her first shoe-repair job was at Max’s Shoe and Bag Repairs, and she hasn’t looked back since. ![]() While others were on break, she started to take shoes and bags apart, to better understand their structure. While taking the course and being on crutches, she kept asking herself, “What am I going to do for the rest of my life?” That's when she realised how much she loved fixing things. Although she loved creating shoes, something was pulling her toward figuring out how to actually repair damage to footwear/leather bags. Still on crutches, Anna started the course. At the same exact time, she was contacted by RMIT, to let her know that a spot had opened up for her to attend their shoe-making course. In September of 1999, Anna had broken her leg and the work she was doing in hospitality came to a grinding halt.
